Course Description

NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals working, or preparing to work, in children’s residential care settings. It provides learners with the essential knowledge, skills and competence required to support the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people living in residential care.

The course focuses on child development, safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, communication, behaviour support and professional working. Learners develop practical, work-based skills through real-life experience in a residential childcare setting, enabling them to confidently meet regulatory and Ofsted requirements.

This qualification is ideal for new entrants to the sector, existing residential childcare staff, apprentices and career changers seeking a rewarding role supporting vulnerable children and young people. On completion, learners will be equipped to work effectively as residential childcare workers and progress toward senior or leadership roles within the sector.
